Media Advisory & Photo Opportunity: Local school children take shoreline litter & transform it into art for the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
(Vancouver – August 22, 2011) In preparation for the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, presented by Loblaw Companies Limited, a group of local school-aged children from Vancouver Aquarium’s AquaCamps will be cleaning up Lost Lagoon and demonstrating how litter can become art on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Since May, kids have been holding weekly shoreline cleanups and using the litter and debris to construct a work of art to raise awareness of marine debris. The Shoreline Cleanup takes place this year from September 17 to 25. So get ready and join the fun as these kids show the rest of Canada how to roll up their sleeves and participate in this family-friendly event!
